This January is all about Dangerous Prayers. Along with our four-part sermon series, there will also be 21 DAYS OF PRAYER starting January 10th. Each week's prayer focus will coincide with the Sunday Sermon - to include a daily devotions. Click the LIVE link to join us at 6 AM each day. Miss the live devotional?  Devotionals: 11th - 16th
Devotionals: 18th - 23rd
Devotionals: 25th - 30th

  • When does Prayer First begin?

The 21 days of prayer and fasting will begin on Sunday, January 10, and will end on Sunday, January 31 (Connect Sunday).

  • What do I pray for?

Each week will focus on one specific prayer - kicked off by the Sunday Sermon. The Daily Devotionals will help give you guidance on how to pray. Even if you simply pray the scripted prayer for the week - we believe it will have an impact on your life!

  • How long do I pray?

That's up to you, but the goal is to pray more than you usually do!

  • Where do I pray?

The goal is that you cultivate a personal time of prayer each day - ideally each morning, wherever that happens most naturally for you (home, at work, during commute, etc.). However, we will also provide opportunities for corporate prayer at Cornerstone Church:
- Wednesday, January 14th, 6-7pm: Men Only
- Wednesday, January 21st, 6-7pm: Women Only
- Wednesday, January 28th: For Everyone

  • Can I start my own prayer group during this time, using these prayer points?

YES! We’d love to hear about it.

  • Should everyone fast?

Everyone should fast something, but no one should fast everything!

  • How should I fast?

There are various forms of fasting that you can apply for these 21 days, so use
discretion and seek counsel (potentially medical counsel) before making a drastic commitment. The point is to intensify your focus on Jesus.

Here are some options you can consider:
  • Water Only: DO NOT ATTEMPT unless you’ve done this before AND have cleared it with your doctor.
  • Juice Only: Again, this is not for beginners and should only be attempted if you’ve checked with your doctor.
  • Skip one meal a day: If you choose this one, don’t skip breakfast.
  • Daniel Fast: No meats or sweets. There are plenty of websites that can help you come up with meal plans for this one.
  • “Crutch” Fast: Whatever food or beverage you feel like you can’t live without - give it up for 21 days! Coffee? Candy? Snacks? Gum? Soda?
  • Media Fast: Say goodbye to TV, Facebook, Twitter, gaming, or even music for 21 days - or at least a portion of your day. Your friends and followers will be okay.

  • Are other churches doing this?

Yes. Traditionally, many churches across our nation and the world start the year off seeking the Lord with concentrated efforts of prayer and fasting. Let’s be praying for them as well!

  1. Why are we doing this?

Prayer changes things! Fasting intensifies your prayer life. If you don’t want to see
changes in your life, you may not want to join us in Prayer First… but we’re praying you do!

  • Are we still doing the Word365 Bible reading plan this year?

Absolutely! See our Web or App for plan options to read along with others in the Manna Family!

At Manna Church, we want to provide you with resources to help you grow in your relationship with God and others.
